Credit cards are the double edged sword in modern time. They can bail you out when you really need cash and they can throw you in to bad debt quickly. That's why choosing a credit card should never be rushed in to. You need to find the lowest interest rate you can find with minimal fees. As usual in the finance industry, if you have bad credit the banks punish you with higher fees and higher interest rates.

Before you travel to a far away land make sure you phone the credit card company and let them know where you are going. Depending on the company they may disallow the use of your card in a different country than your own. Believe me.....I've been burned on that one a couple of times now.
